AMC’s “Walking Dead” is a creepy television show, but what Ezekiel saw in “The Valley of Bones” is much more startling. He saw dry bones laying everywhere, and at the command of the Lord, they began to rattle. Then, they came together as skeletons; and ligaments, tendons, organs, and muscles began to grow on them. Next, skin covered the bodies, and when God breathed into them, they came alive and stood up, “a vast army”.

Why did God show Ezekiel this vision? What did it mean to him and to the Children of Israel at that time? More importantly for us today is this question: what is God saying to us in this passage?
